Trucking Industry In Canada – An Essential Service
Trucking industry in North America has been an essential services for as far as you can remember. In fact, it is one of the most sought-after industry so much so that it runs through the highways, lanes, streets as if serum runs through the arteries of a human body and helps supply the much-needed commodities to our shelves.
For once, I cannot think of life without trucks being around. Imagine each day from the very moment you get up in the morning from your bed and look around and now for a moment imagine that there are no trucks, there are no truckers who would, otherwise, do their jobs as silent angels and make sure that everything around you remains as is. What if these trucks stop moving, the truckers stop working. Well, the life would stop, the economy would experience a sudden shock of break.
If we do not get our daily dose of much-needed morning coffee, we cannot start our day, imagine everything around you, on your kitchen shelves, in your fridge – disappears! You run to your local grocer, the shelves are empty there too. You rush to grab your car keys and drive in haste, mind it, you haven’t had your morning coffee yet and you head to a Walmart or to a Costco, and all you see is sea of people around you, all helplessly staring at empty shelves. Not even a single loaf of bread or jar of your favorite coffee brand is visible even at the farthest end of the store.
What do you do next? You run to the nearest coffee shop in order to consume the essential-most drink of your day so that after having your coffee, you could, at least, start thinking straight, but guess what? The coffee shop is closed and all you could see are the empty shelves with huffing and puffing coffee machines staring back at you with nothing but empty hope.
Take it or not, fact of the matter is that we cannot survive without truckers not doing their job. With our daily, modern, run-of-the-mill lifestyle we might not have realized how important something like trucking is to our daily routine-bound life, but it truly is an essential service.
In our daily diary’s entries. truckers might not be considered as important as soldiers at the borders but, they certainly are no less.
Trucking industry is one of the major driving forces of the GDP of any country, and if it stops, not only our daily life would be hampered big time but the economy, as a whole, could stop.
Even during the times of Covid-19 pandemic, everything else might have stopped to cross USA-Canada border, but the governments on both the sides of the border made sure that truckers continued the uninterrupted supplies of medicines, food, daily groceries, etc., thus ensuring that while each one of us were taking care of our loved ones at home, truckers made sure that we did not fall short of easter eggs or christmas cakes along with other essential items in our homes, while we celebrated life with our families in these unprecedented times. Not to forget our coffee which was required even the more every morning that too was being supplied without fail and in abundance.
